On Saturday 12th May 2018 Three Bridges Football Club are hosting the MS Charity Cup, in which all proceeds will be donated to MS Society.
The MS Charity Cup is an annual event, which alternates in location between football clubs, and team line ups. Last year Lingfield FC hosted the first of many MS Cup games, and the event was huge success, raising thousands.
Dan Burgess, founded the event after his partner, Amy, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 2016. Combining his love of football, and desire to raise awareness of the condition, he organised a charity football game, that he knew would not be a one-off.
“Last year was our first event at Lingfield FC and since then, we have realised the growth in the event can be huge”
This years Cup will see Celeb FC verse Stokes United, a team made up of Dan’s family members, friends and professionals, including former Gillingham centre-forward, Tom Derry.
“Our aim was to raise more money and more awareness. Our target is £10,000 – so to hit that it would be amazing”
Dan told BOTN, that without the fantastic support of his committee members, and Three Bridges Football Club, it would not be possible to put on the event.
“I am so greatful for the support we have this year. All donations raised will go directly to MS Society to help fund research and support. They are a great charity and aim to help families and people suffering with Multiple Sclerosis”
Back Of The Net are pleased to announce that we will be attending this fantastic event, and producing a highlights video which will be available on YouTube.
