The Bostik League Show: 2017-18 Bostik South Division 1 Playoff Final

On Saturday 5th May 2018 – King George’s Field opened its gates, as this year, it was Corinthian-Casuals’ turn to host the playoff final. Last years playoff semi-final saw Corinthian-Casuals win 4-3 at Princes Park vs Greenwich Borough. The final was however decided by penalties, and Dorking Wanderers earned promotion after a nail-biting 5-4 shootout.

On Tuesday night, the Casuals enjoyed another victory at Princes Park. Josh Uzun converted from the spot, and Gabriel Odunaike doubled, then tripled their lead.

Walton Casuals also had a touch of déjà vu, as their result on Tuesday in their playoff semi final, was the identical score line they achieve vs Cray Wanderers in March; 5-2 – and it was 5 different Stag’s who signed their names on the score sheet: Joe Hicks, Daryl Coleman, Stuart Baldwin, Josh Kelly and Jack Sammoutis.

Corinthian-Casuals completed the season in fifth position with 86 points, and Walton had just one point fewer in 6th. With both 3rd, and 4th positioners out of the running, the 2017-18 final was the battle of the Casuals.
